Box Content Information

The detailed data provided to Amazon regarding exactly which items (SKUs and quantities) are inside each specific box of an FBA shipment.

Why Amazon Needs Box Content Data

Amazon uses box content information to speed up the receiving process. When they know exactly what is in each box, they can scan it and make your inventory live much faster. If you don’t provide this info, you might face "Manual Processing Fees," which can quickly eat into your profits.

2D Barcodes: The Pro Way to Provide Info

You have two choices: enter the info manually in Seller Central (which is a nightmare for large shipments) or use 2D barcodes on your labels. A 2D barcode contains all the SKU and quantity data in a single scannable image on the box.

  • Avoids manual entry errors in Seller Central.
  • Reduces wait times at the fulfillment center.
  • Eliminates per-item manual processing fees.

Box Labeling Best Practices

Every box needs two labels: the FBA shipment label and the carrier (UPS/FedEx) label. Make sure they are placed on a flat surface and not over a seam or a corner, as this makes them impossible to scan at the warehouse.
