Glossary Term
Inventory Reconciliation
The process of comparing physical inventory counts with the records kept in an inventory management system to identify and correct discrepancies.
Finding the Missing Boxes
Sometimes Amazon loses your stuff. Inventory reconciliation is the act of checking your "Inbound Shipments" against what was actually "Received." If you sent 100 units but Amazon only shows 95, you need to file a "Reconciliation Case" to get paid for those 5 missing items.
The Power of Labeling Proof
To win a reconciliation case, you need evidence. Amazon often asks for photos of the labels or your **Packing Slips**. Having a digital history of every label you’ve printed and a clearly organized packing slip makes it much easier to prove that you actually sent the quantity you claimed.
- Perform reconciliation audits at least once a month.
- Crucial for claiming FBA reimbursements.
- Reduces "Inventory Shrinkage" losses.
