Glossary Term
SPD (Small Parcel Delivery)
A shipping method for individual boxes sent via carriers like UPS, FedEx, or DHL, as opposed to palletized freight shipments.
The Go-To for Small Shipments
SPD is the standard way most new sellers send stock to Amazon. You pack your items in a box, print a UPS label, and drop it off. It’s faster than LTL (freight) because individual boxes move through the carrier network more quickly than heavy pallets.
Resizing SPD Labels
Amazon provides SPD labels as a 2-up PDF (two labels on one 8.5x11 sheet). If you have a thermal printer, you can’t print this directly. You need a tool to "slice" and "resize" that PDF so it prints perfectly on 4x6 thermal paper without losing barcode quality.
- Best for shipments under 15-20 boxes.
- Qualifies for Amazon Partnered Carrier discounts.
- Requires both FBA and Carrier labels on every box.
