Code 128 Barcode

A high-density linear barcode symbology capable of encoding all 128 ASCII characters. It is the industry standard for shipping labels, warehouse management, and Amazon FBA carton IDs.

The Industry Standard for Logistics

Code 128 is the workhorse of the logistics world. Unlike simpler barcodes, it can handle both numbers and letters, making it extremely versatile. If you look at an Amazon shipping label or a UPS tracking barcode, you are almost certainly looking at a Code 128 barcode. Its high density means it can store a lot of data in a relatively small space.

Why Scannability is Everything

In a fast-moving warehouse, a barcode that doesn’t scan on the first try is a liability. Code 128 is designed with "checksum" characters to ensure accuracy, but poor print quality can still ruin its performance. If your thermal printer has a low DPI or your label PDF is blurry, you risk operational delays and chargebacks.

  • Used for Amazon FBA box ID labels.
  • Supports alphanumeric data for complex SKUs.
  • High error-detection rate for reliable scanning.

Code 128 in the LabelResizer Ecosystem

When you resize an Amazon or Walmart PDF, our engine ensures the Code 128 barcodes remain crisp and meet the minimum size requirements. We don’t just "stretch" the image; we optimize the barcode lines for thermal printing to guarantee a 100% scan rate at the fulfillment center.
