Glossary Term
FTL (Full Truckload)
A shipping method where a single customer’s goods occupy the entire space of a truck’s trailer, or when a shipment is large enough to fill a truck alone.
When to Move from LTL to FTL
If you are shipping more than 10-12 pallets at once, it’s often cheaper and faster to book a Full Truckload (FTL). Unlike LTL (Less Than Truckload), where the truck makes multiple stops to pick up other sellers' goods, an FTL goes directly from your warehouse to the Amazon Fulfillment Center. This drastically reduces the risk of damage and speeds up delivery by days.
Labeling for Bulk Shipments
Even in an FTL, every pallet and every box still needs its own unique FBA and carrier labels. Because an FTL contains so many units, using a batch printing system with group separators is the only way to stay organized during the loading process.
- Faster transit times with no intermediate stops.
- Lower risk of damage as the goods are handled less.
- More cost-effective for high-volume inventory replenishment.
