Listing Hijacking

An unauthorized attempt by a third-party seller to sell a counterfeit or similar version of a product on another brand’s original listing.

The Seller’s Nightmare

Hijacking happens when another seller "hops" onto your listing and wins the Buy Box with a lower price. Often, they are selling a lower-quality knockoff. This not only steals your sales but also destroys your brand reputation as customers leave 1-star reviews for the fake product they received.

Fighting Back with Transparency

The most effective way to stop hijackers is the **Amazon Transparency Program**. By serializing every unit with a unique 2D barcode, Amazon can verify that every item sent from a warehouse or received by a customer is 100% authentic. No code = no sale.

  • Brand Registry is the first line of defense.
  • Monitor your Buy Box ownership alerts constantly.
  • Report counterfeiters immediately to Amazon’s Brand Registry team.
