Prop 65 Warning (California)
A mandatory warning label for products sold in California that contain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
The "Right to Know" Law
California’s Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals. This applies to thousands of products, from plastic electronics to lead in jewelry. If you sell on Amazon and don’t include the Prop 65 warning on your packaging, you could face massive legal fines and listing suspension.
Labeling for Compliance
The warning must be clear and include the specific chemical name if applicable. Instead of buying thousands of pre-printed stickers, you can use a warning label maker to generate the exact Prop 65 text you need and print it on any thermal printer alongside your FNSKU.
- Must include the triangular warning symbol.
- Must specify the type of risk (e.g., Cancer or Reproductive Harm).
- Applies even if you are not based in California but sell to residents.
