Glossary Term

FNSKU (Fulfillment Network Stock Keeping Unit)

A unique identifier used by Amazon to track a specific product as belonging to a specific seller within their fulfillment centers.

The DNA of Your FBA Inventory

An FNSKU is what separates your inventory from everyone else’s. While two sellers might sell the exact same toaster (same ASIN), they will each have a different FNSKU. When Amazon picks an item for a customer, the FNSKU ensures that *your* specific unit is the one being shipped.

Avoiding the "Truncated Title" Problem

By default, Amazon often cuts off product titles on FNSKU labels, making it hard to identify products in the warehouse. Using a custom label generator allows you to print the **Full Title**, add "Free Text" (like Made in Turkey), or even include a sequence number for better tracking.

  • Must be applied to every unit unless using manufacturer barcodes.
  • Prevents "Commingling" of inventory.
  • Standard size is 1x2 or 1x3 inches.

Extension vs. Manual PDF

The fastest way to get FNSKUs is through a browser extension that puts a "Resize" button directly in your Seller Central "Manage Inventory" or "Shipment" page. This removes the need to download PDFs and manually crop them for your thermal printer.
